I have attended Forest Lake Academy for two years. One of the things I love most about this school, is how it feels like a big family that cares for each other and our dreams. One of the teachers that really shows this well is Mrs. Sugaski. She is a strict teacher, but very loving and understanding. She truly cares if her students are feeling overwhelmed in their lives and she tries to help us out as much as she can.
I remember one day my freshman year when I was having a really bad day. I was sitting outside and feeling overwhelmed and alone. A group of seniors came by and asked me to eat lunch with them and attend a Unify meeting – which was a Bible study group. That really impacted me and is a great reminder of how we are truly never alone. That Unify meeting reminded me also that at the end of the day, God is the only one who can give us peace. Forest Lake Academy really emphasizes on gaining independence and time management skills. I believe these two skills are crucial for me now and are essential to me becoming successful after I graduate.
I would tell any high school student to attend FLA! Your spiritual life really grows here if you open your heart to it. FLA is a small school where you feel safe and a part of one big family.
