What years have you attended Forest Lake Academy?
2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015

What do you love about Forest Lake Academy?
What I love about FLA is that there is such a feeling of family. On my first day at FLA, I was really nervous that a lot of people would judge me and not like me. But then some people introduced themselves to me and they were really friendly. And as my days go on in high school I have became friends with a lot people, and they have become like family. And I never feel left out, because the people at FLA will always be there for you no matter what. The environment is such a Seventh-Day Adventist Christian environment. I have gotten really close to God and still am because of FLA -their worships, their missions, and public services during school and classes. That has really pulled me more towards God. Forest Lake Academy is really such a friendly, loving, family, educational place to be.

Describe one of your favorite teachers and tell why he/she is a favorite:
Miss Eberly is my favorite teacher. She’s a really nice and young person who loves to teach math and loves her students. She helped influence me to study and work hard in her class. She makes math understandable and fun to learn. And she’s really loving person to me, like I even consider Miss Eberly to be my mom. She helps her students stay focused in class, like I remember when I was sleeping in her class and she would always wake me up to pay attention. Also she loves God, and she can understand and relate to teens because she’s still young like us.

In what ways have you grown in your faith as a result of your experience at Forest Lake Academy?
The students at FLA have a strong faith in God. One of my good friends, Caleb had the strongest faith that I’ve ever seen. Even when his situation looked really bad, he influenced us to not worry because “Everything Will Be Ok”- we can always can count on God because He’s always there for us no matter what. Caleb had cancer and even though something horrible was happening in his life, he still smiled and had such a strong faith in God to just say “No worries, everything will be ok”. Caleb really influenced me to just never give up, and to just have faith in God because He has plans for me.

Tell us your story about how Forest Lake Academy has made a difference in your life:
How FLA has made a difference into my life is by helping find good friends who will never leave you. Honestly, during my middle school years, I didn’t really enjoy it. But when I went to FLA it made me a really happy person because the people there were just fun, friendly, loving, and spiritual. I remember my freshmen year, the seniors helped give advice on what to do and not to do during my high school years. FLA really helped me find out who I really am. And I thank FLA for just changing my life.

How do you feel that FLA is preparing you for graduation, college and life? What are your plans after you graduate?
How I feel that FLA is preparing me for graduation, college, and life is I feel really supported and cared for a lot. The teachers and staff totally support me and they don’t want me or any of us to have a bad future when we grow up, they want us to have a successful future. So I’m thankful that they’re leading me to somewhere great in life. My plans after I graduate FLA is to hopefully go to college (probably Southern Adventist University), and hopefully major in physical education, health, and wellness, then I look forward to getting a job that will help people with their health in life. After that I hope to have a happy family so I can raise children and put them in FLA when they grow up.
