"They didn't try to tell me they knew what I was going through, they just listened. And that helped more than I can put into words," Wyand said.
During his time at FLA, Wyand said his favorite classes were geometry and world history, and while he can't choose just one favorite teacher, he said he enjoyed having Mrs. Vieira, Dr. Nugent, and Mr. Stevens the most.
Now that he's graduated, Wyand said he plans to attend Seminole State College and maintain an associates degree, then go on to University of Central Florida to earn a degree in biology or chemistry. Afterwards, he hopes to go to med school to become an anesthesiologist.
When asked what advice he'd like to pass on to other students, Wyand said the most important thing he's learned the past year is to keep strong relationships and don't fall behind.
"Do not procrastinate," he said. "Fix any relationships that are important to you because life is too short, and you might need those people later down the road."
