TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING AT FLA

The fourth industrial revolution includes innovations in cyber physical elements that apply artificial intelligence and practical hardware on biological units such as the human body. Forest Lake Academy's goal is to teach the students to become independent and aggressive learners. This goal is reached by providing courses such as robotics, mechatronics (technology combining electronic and mechanical engineering), human-computer interface (virtual reality), and a personalized innovation curriculum.

ROBOTICS

Our robotics program is rapidly gaining speed, and we now host the Adventist FIRST Tech Challenge robotics competition on our campus each year. Teams from around the country come to compete with robot designs they have been working on all school year. This program allows our students to design, build and program a robot to complete a number of tasks, the mission changes each year.

FLA Innovation Initiative

INNOVATION LAB

The FLA Innovation Lab is only the prototypical starting point for the Innovation Initiative. In the future, FLA plans to open 7 “school-within-a-school” programs across the conference in hopes of expanding this mission. They encourage students who have graduated from the program to continue their research at the XLab: a “student-incubator” where members of the program can thrive beyond the school atmosphere.
