SAT and ACT Test Information

Many colleges and universities across the country will accept scores from either the SAT or ACT exams as a requirement for college admission and scholarships.

Consult the websites of your potential schools of choice prior to the admission requirements, some colleges are "SAT/ACT optional" which means that the scores are not required for admission but for class placement and scholarships. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many colleges and universities have decided to admit students on a SAT/ACT test optional basis. However, even if these tests may no longer be necessary for college admissions, they are still crucial for Florida Bright Futures Scholarships and other scholarships given by a particular college or university. Please contact the university of the students' interest regarding admission requirements.

Students should take both the SAT and the ACT

The reason we recommend that students should take both tests at least once is so they can experience both tests and compare their results. The SAT and ACT are both digital at FLA, and students must bring their own laptops to the test center. The ACT has a Science section that the SAT does not. Make sure you take both tests and check your scores in the comparison table provided by Magnolia Prep.

Registering for ACT Sunday Testing Online

To register for the ACT, no clergy letter is needed. Simply follow these steps:

• Register at act.org
• When you are in the process of registering, they will ask you if you can't test on Saturday for religious purposes, just check-mark that you will test on Sunday due to religious purposes.
• Enter our FLA test center code #172791.
• You will always see the Saturday testing date since that is the official testing date, go ahead and pay. If you have a fee waiver, type in the number. Remember it's once-time use.
• Upload your photo. Print your admission ticket which should have a Sunday testing date and FLA as your testing center.

Registering for SAT Sunday Testing Online

If you've registered for Sunday testing before September 21, 2025, you can register for additional dates by using the normal registration process. Otherwise, follow the steps below:

Create Collage Board Account

STEP 1: OBTAIN A CLERGY LETTER
Download Clergy Letter here if you are an FLA student) or from your Pastor if not an FLA student.
Download Clergy Letter

• Print the student’s name and date on the Clergy letter.
• Download a copy of the completed form (most students snap a picture with their phones).
• Be sure to save the copy as a PDF file.

STEP 2: COMPLETE THE SAT STUDENT AND PARENT INQUIRY FORM

• From the Topic list, select Registration.
• From the Detail list, select Change Saturday/Sunday status.
• Attach your completed Clergy Letter (see step 1).
• Leave the Student Registration Number blank (most likely you do not have one).
• Enter your personal email (not your school email) where is says, “Student College Board Email Address.
• In the box titled “Please briefly describe your issue or request,” you may write: Due to religious beliefs, I am requesting approval for Sunday testing. Thank you for considering my request.

On testing day, please come prepared with:

• Fully charged laptop
• ID
• Admission ticket (available on your Collegeboard online account)
