SAT and ACT Test Information

Many colleges and universities across the country will accept scores from either the SAT or ACT exams as a requirement for college admission.

Writing portions are optional for both exams. Keep in mind that many competitive schools require students to submit SAT Subject Test scores. Consult the websites of your potential schools of choice prior to selecting which exam to take. Please make note of test dates and registration deadlines to avoid late fees.

Students should take both the SAT and the ACT

The reason we recommend that students should take both tests at least once is so they can see which test they can score higher. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many colleges and universities have decided to admit students on a SAT/ACT test optional basis. However, even if these tests may no longer be necessary for college admissions, they are still crucial for Florida Bright Futures Scholarships and other scholarships given by a particular college or university. Please contact the university of the students' interest regarding admission requirements.
